ShinLi was oh-so-very nice as to give me my old intro post. So I present it to you here, slightly updated.
My name is Kara and I obviously play Even.
I also play Peter. I'm 22 years old and a girl.
Things I like:
Music: I've been listening to a lot of Guided By Voices, Robert Pollard, Oasis, Ryan Adams and Wilco lately. Very recently I've also started listening to Fleet Foxes. I also like Death Cab for Cutie, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Gasoline Heart, The Band, The Beatles, Queen, Feist, Alice Cooper, Kimya Dawson, and Adam and Dave's Bloodlines....just to name a few.
Books: I enjoy mostly sci-fi (which explains the appeal of this board). Favorites include Dune, A Wrinkle in Time, the Harry Potter series, anything Star Wars by Timothy Zahn, The Giver, Ender's Game, The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy, and the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman.
Comics (a section I forgot to include last time): Okay, so I guess Sandman could belong here...anyway, graphic novels or comics, whatever you would like to call them- I'm geeky and like them. Mostly just DC though (sorry!) Grant Morrison is a flippin' genius and I love his stuff. Batman RIP is brilliant. I also like Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, and Frank Miller. Mostly I read Batman comics- but I like a lot of non-Batman graphic novels.
TV Shows:
That I currently follow: The Office. Scrubs and 24 when they come back. I just gave up on Heroes.
That I enjoy the occasional episode: The Soup, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Lost, House, Chuck, Chain Reaction (the game show), and Jeopardy! (I can't watch a lot of those shows any more because I don't have cable.)
That I love that no longer run: The X-Files, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Early Edition (I was going to frickin' marry Gary Hobson! I hear he's on Friday Night Lights now, but I have no desire to watch anything about football) and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (that show helped define my childhood, haha)
Movies: STAR WARS, generally the classic trilogy. Serenity, Life is Beautiful, That Thing You Do, Love Actually, Back to the Future, and a million others including many musicals and Disney animated films.
I also enjoy traveling, camping, biking, in-line skating, computers in general, authentic Cajun food, reading, cats, good discussion, and learning in general.
Random facts: I am a "middle child." I am married (and I went to COMIC-CON for my honeymoon, oh yes). I live in Michigan, north of Detroit. I got my first cavity this summer. The only bone I've broken is my nose. I hate coffee. I fall asleep fastest when I'm in a car. I like board games. I got my first white hair when I was sixteen. I have a cat named Lampshade.
